LC-MS
analysis
PRISNA has a LC-MS system at it’s disposal for the separation
and structure elucidation/confirmation of components of natural
products being a state-of-the-art LC-DAD-MS from Agilent Technologies.
The MS is a quadrupole MS of the type 1100 SL, which has a detection
limit (for the reference compound reserpine) below 1 pg for
both electrospray ionization (ESI) and atmospheric pressure
chemical ionization (APCI).
Applications LC-DAD-MS:
- analysis and fingerprinting of fractions during extractions
and purifications;
- quality determination of final products from extractions
and purifications.
Additional services:
The determination of residue and contaminant levels (e.g. mycotoxins such as Aflatoxins, Ochratoxins, Zearaleneone, Patulin) in a broad rage of products (food, pharmaceuticals, plant material). The detection limit for most mycotoxins in the low pg range: this allows the detection well below the ppb (ng/g) level using sample amounts of less than 1 g. Since the analysis is very specific (only these masses corresponding to those of the mycotoxins are detected), very short analysis times (below 10 minutes) can be achieved, while still differentiating between mycotoxin analogues and their metabolites (e.g. aflatoxin B1, B2, M, etc). |
